Gate

except for the hinges this gate is made entirely from green Oak. when it weatheres it will go gray and there may be some movement from the planks all in my view adding an aged character you can see happen when ever you leave home!

Bike Store

Made from shiplap and cedar shingles the bike store was painted the same colour as the front door.

Iroko Table

With a free week over the winter I thought I would use up some Iroko I had left over.
The table top is constructed from batons laminated together. Im very happy with the build and finish and would like to say It is for sale!!!!!

Bench Renovation

I stripped the benches of old paint and filler and sanded them both back before applying the paint for the client. It was a great project because they were of sentimental value and it felt good to bring some furniture back to life for the next generation

Chelsea Garden

The task was to clad this garden in under a week. Although we completed it with time to spare we worked extremely long hours to accomplish it! The first day was the most technically challenging as there was an 80mm belly in the back wall so to gain the maximum amount of bench space I cut down 100mm square posts to fit the curve of the wall.
Day 1

Day 2

Day 3

Day 4

We really got going on the third day as I had done most of the cutting round the bench to keep the lines equal and level on day two.

I have found there is a definite technique to putting up cedar panels efficiently and you most defiantly need two people.

Hampstead part 2!

Many Thanks to Julie Zelidin for designing my favourite garden yet! Also thank you for getting me to help manage the build and do all the decking.

There are some particular reasons I think this is such a success, the size of the plot and the gradient the garden was before the build helped with the multiple level changes through the garden. Using three different tones of grey paint on the rendered planters and retaining back wall work amazingly with the slate terrace and lawn edging. Along the right hand side the metal pergolas in each planter are a good addition of another material and when the climbing roses are established they will create a softened structure to compliment the sharper lines throughout the garden.
Obviously the deck helps to bring the whole garden together with the sloping deck travelling along the lawn linking the raised and lower deck. I enjoyed the technical aspects of the build and the great team I was working with.

Window Seat and Shelving

The brief was enitially to install a window seat with storage beneth. It was then decided that shelving either side intigrated into the window sill would add to the effect, increse storage and make a great feature to the end of the room.
